Academy of Management (AOM) members connect with colleagues around the globe through AOM’s online networks and communities, as well as at the Annual Meeting—the world’s largest gathering of management and organization scholars.
Networking through AOM offers many opportunities to share research, meet peers, and discuss everything from the latest theories, to the best teaching practices, to top management and organization issues of the day. Your membership benefits multiply when you join two or more Divisions and Interest groups (DIGs) representing 26 scholarly disciplines.
Community Accelerator Program (CAP)
Global connections emerge through people and collaborations. The Community Accelerator Program (CAP) is built in the belief that all scholars—students, early-career faculty, and senior researchers—are the foundation of the globally-relevant academic community.
AOM Teaching Community
The Academy of Management (AOM) Teaching Community brings together the world’s leading management educators to share resources, exchange ideas, and collaborate. Access a growing repository of innovative materials and case studies — and share your own work with a global community that is actively shaping the future of management education.
Divisions and Interest Groups
Divisions and Interest Groups (DIGs) reflect a broad range of member interests within 26 management disciplines. By joining a DIG, you can network with colleagues with similar scholarly and professional interests. Each DIG offers a range of services, including educational sessions, social events at the Annual Meeting, and DIG websites and Connect@AOM communities for sharing professional development opportunities, recognition programs, and division updates.
Affiliated and Associated Societies
AOM builds cooperative relationships and networks with other societies committed to advancing the scholarship and practice of management. Affiliated and Associated Societies augment and complement the activities of AOM. Both operate autonomously and provides you the opportunity to interact with colleagues who share commonality of culture, language, or geographic location.

Connect@AOM
With AOM members living all around the world, connecting with others online is essential. Connect@AOM offers members a platform with more than 30 communities to connect through discussion boards, a library of shared documents, and a calendar of events to become involved in conversation and collaboration with colleagues.
Connecting in Person at AOM Events
Networking at events is a crucial part of growing your connections. AOM holds multiple events each year around the world, ranging from journal workshops to our Annual Meeting. Through connecting with others at AOM events, you will learn about the latest research, meet others inside and outside of your management discipline, and expand your network, knowledge, and skills.
Volunteering
As an AOM volunteer, you are invited to create the collective future of the organization by joining in the planning, direction and decision making of AOM. Volunteering connects you with others who have similar interests, which serves to expand your network.
The PhD Project
The Academy of Management partners with The PhD Project, an organization that aims to expand the pool of workplace talent by developing business school faculty who encourage, mentor, and support tomorrow’s leaders. Through partnerships, networking, mentoring, and unique events, The PhD Project helps students earn PhDs so they can inspire and educate the next generation of business leaders.
